PROCEDURE:

Wet contaminated fibers with Gooff.
Agitate gently but thoroughly to dissolve contamination.
Allow dwell time (usually one to two minutes).
Apply Power Gel to contaminated fibers.
Again, agitate gently but thoroughly to emulsify dissolved contamination.
Very thoroughly rinse area.
Apply ARA to prevent re-soiling.

Mix Red Relief Part A and Part B in equal parts.
Using trigger sprayer, wet stained fibers with Red Relief mixture.
Cover spot with a moderately wet (excess water squeezed out) terry towel. Note: A lightweight-cleaning towel folded double works well here.
Apply steam heat from an iron set at the lowest steam temperature.
Check the stain every 30 seconds.
When the stain has turned to a light yellow or has disappeared, remove heat and towel.
Extraction rinse chemical residue away.


Tips: Usually incomplete stain removal is the result of insufficient heating time (high temperature is not necessary but dwell time is important).



Red Relief will continue to work on stains which have penetrated dye sites even after you have rinsed the carpet clean. Because of this, you will find that if the slightest tinge of red remains following your treatment, it will disappear overnight.



The type of iron you use is IMPORTANT, here's why... Conventional irons can work against you because of uneven heat/steam application to the carpet. The iron that will serve you best is an iron which has steam vents covering the ironing surface rather than one with with a single row of vents around the perimeter of the ironing surface.

PROCEDURE: (Surface Contamination):

IMPORTANT: Remember that blood is a biohazard. Protect yourself accordingly and treat it according to EPA guidelines.

Mix Dirt Chaser or Pro-Zyme according to directions on bottle.
Apply solution to stained fibers to thoroughly wet fibers.
Gently but thoroughly agitate fibers to break up and emulsify deposit. Dwell time will help the biochemistry work for you here.
Thoroughly rinse via water extraction leaving carpet as dry as possible (do not use an acid rinsing agent here).
If a visible stain remains apply Stain Magic.


PROCEDURE: (Sub-Surface Contamination):

You may experience wicking of blood on heavier deposits. If deposit is heavy enough to have soaked through backing and into pad use steps 1-4 above and proceed with the following process.

Mix OSR (Odor and Stain Remover) according to the directions on the bottle.
Saturate the contaminated area being sure to apply enough OSR solution to penetrate the carpet backing and padding underneath.
Allow up to 30 minutes dwell time.
Use sub-surface flood extraction tool to remove moisture and oxidized contamination.
Dry area as quickly and thoroughly as possible.

CHEMICALS REQUIRED: Power Gel and Last Step Rinse.

PROCEDURE:

Scrape away excess contamination.
Apply Power Gel liberally to spot.
Agitate gently but thoroughly to emulsify compound.
Rinse clean using a dilute solution of Last Step Rinse.


Tip: Solvents are not as effective as Power Gel on this substance.

After application of heat, promptly apply Power Gel to hot wax deposit and agitate gently with a Carpet Shark or bone scraper to put wax into solution with the Power Gel.
Rinse area thoroughly using hot water extraction.

For latex or oil based caulking it’s best to remove the caulking from carpet before cleaning the area as water will dilute some of your chemical and reduce its effectiveness.

Apply Pro Solve Gel liberally to caulking deposit.
Allow 5 minutes dwell time.
Gently agitate the spot with a Carpet Shark to break the caulking away from the fibers. (if necessary you can add more Pro Solve Gel at this time).
Apply Power Gel and gently but thoroughly agitate to emulsify and suspend the Pro Solve and Caulking.
Hot water extraction rinse leaving as dry as possible.
Treat area with ARA to prevent resoiling.

PROCEDURE:

Dry vacuum area thoroughly to remove as much excess contamination as possible (this is very important).
Apply dilute solution (15:1) Power Gel to contaminated fibers.
Using Carpet Shark, agitate treated area until contamination becomes suspended in foam.
Dry extract (no water) foam.
Repeat steps 2 through 4 until foam no longer colors from substance.
Thoroughly hot water extraction rinse area to remove Power Gel solution.
If light color residue remains apply Stain Magic and allow dwell time. Stain will disappear as it dries.

Furniture stains are normally caused by one of the following:

Rust from metal leg supports.
Tannin color leaching from wood.

A. Rust.
